Details of the Job/Internship

IIHS is hiring a Senior Research Associate with 5–9 years of experience to join their office in New Delhi.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct holistic research on legal, regulatory, and institutional challenges within the Indian mining sector.
• Track global and national developments in minerals supply chains, decarbonization, and international trade.
• Develop high-quality knowledge products, including policy briefs, working papers, and guidance documents.
• Co-produce academic publications for leading journals and participate in research dissemination.
• Collaborate with senior leadership to design and execute international conferences and workshops.
• Interface with key stakeholders in government, industry, and civil society to inform research outcomes.
• Support the capacity-building agenda and contribute to institution-building activities at IIHS.
• Conduct field visits to gather primary data and assess the practical impacts of mining policies.

Eligibility

• Master’s degree in Law, Public Policy, International Relations, Economics, or Sustainability (PhD preferred).
• 5–9 years of relevant experience in research, policy analysis, or field-based studies.
• Demonstrated proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
• Keen interest in energy transitions, urbanization, and sustainable resource management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
• Proven ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience in managing or assisting with national/international conferences.

Salary/Stipend
