Details of the Job/Internship

Inventus Law is hiring a Trademarks Associate with experience of 2–4 years to join their office in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trademark clearance searches and provide written legal opinions on registrability and risk.
• Prepare and prosecute trademark applications before the USPTO and WIPO under the Madrid Protocol.
• Draft substantive responses to USPTO Office Actions, addressing refusals like likelihood of confusion or descriptiveness.
• Manage post-registration maintenance, including Section 8 and 9 filings and Section 15 declarations.
• Provide strategic advice for opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB).
• Draft and respond to cease and desist letters related to trademark infringement matters.
• Advise clients on global filing strategies and coordinate with foreign counsel on international portfolio management.
• Perform complex legal research and draft memoranda on emerging intellectual property issues.

Eligibility

• LL.B. from an accredited law school.
• 2–4 years of dedicated experience in trademark prosecution and counseling.
• Demonstrated experience with USPTO filings, including responses to substantive Office Actions.
• Familiarity with TTAB proceedings (oppositions and cancellations).
• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
• Strong legal research, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while remaining a collaborative team member.
